NACK Negative ACK
Named Pipes In computing, a named pipe (also FIFO for its behaviour) is an extension to the classical pipe concept on Unix and Unix-like systems, and is one of the methods of interprocess communication.

NetBIOS Network Basic Input/Output System. Program that allows applications on different computers to communicate within a LAN. Created by IBM for its early PC Network, adopted by Microsoft, is now de facto industry standard.
NFS Network File System (NFS) is a protocol originally developed by Sun Microsystems in 1984 and defined in RFCs 1094, 1813, (3010) and 3530, as a file system which allows a computer to access files over a network as easily as if they were on its local disks.

NTP The Network Time Protocol (NTP) is a protocol for synchronising the clocks of computer systems over packet-switched, variable-latency data networks. NTP is a purely UDP/IP protocol, not TCP/IP. It is designed particularly to resist the effects of variable latency.
